My teacher’s have always told me that I write editorial. My essays sound like they belong in a newspaper, instead of being the academic journal they prefer. Of course I didn’t understand the dilemma we were facing. College prepares you for college right? Instead of my professors acknowledging, and channeling my unique style of writing, they ridiculed, and tried their best to change it. There are a few styles I’ll have to get accustomed to, like the short sentence paragraphs. But, I’m glad that I’m finally in a safe haven to grow and learn.
