Acajournademiclistic Mode.

I don't think that I have much of a problem when it comes to writing for journalistic purposes versus when writing in an academic setting. I know there are certain formalities for journalistic writing, but there isn't too much of an issue. Some things here and there might need to be tweaked, but for the most part, because I have done academic writing practically all my life, and was exposed to writing journalistically when I was in high school, I can make the switch. One issue I sort of have is inadvertently making my academic papers sound journalistic. When that happens, I have to consciously think "Academic Mode": fancier words and longer sentences.
