blog 3

The site I am looking at is nabj.org, or the national association of black journalists. This website is an important tool not only for black journalists, but for all journalists. The site includes a multitude of options to choose from. Members have options for a library, directory, job information, merchandise and things of that nature. In addition to this the site also posts upcoming events the NABJ will be involved in as well as up to date news and publications regarding blacks and the black journalist members. There are even places for students to browse on the site and look for internships, scholarships and mentoring. This site is a useful tool for non black journalists because it can give perspective to those who seek it, as far as the black community is concerned. There are ways to learn about what the NABJ is doing and how to get involved. There are also ways to contact other black journalists. It is just an all around helpful website to take a look at. As was discussed in my earlier post, it is important for a journalist to be well versed in what he or she is writing about. NAJB is a great place to start looking for information. Who knows, mabye there is someone or something on this site that can be the final piece to a great news story. All the information is there; it just takes a little bit of initiative to find it. Also, while the NABJ is an excellent site, it is not the only site that information can be obtained from. There are lots of sites just like this that journalists should take full advantage of. To not do so would be just plain dumb.
